Tags Made Simple

Adding a tag to a reminder is as simple as including a hashtag.  For example:

pay the water bill next Tuesday #bills

Its really that simple.  You can also add multiple tags to a reminder.

Works on Twitter and Through Email

Hashtags were born on Twitter, so it makes sense for us to fully support tagging on Twitter.  So when creating reminders via email (reminder@task.fm) or on Twitter (direct message @taskfm)  just include a tag.

Even Works When You Don’t

You only need to create a tag once.  After that, we recognise reminders with the same tags and automatically tag them for you.

Search

You can search all your reminders based on tags or keywords.  Try the new search box in your members area.

You can now send reminders to multiple people and setup contact groups to easily blast out handy reminders to your team.

As Simple as Sending an Email

Sending reminders to multiple people is as simple as CC’ing anybody when creating a reminder via email.  You can also send a reminder out to multiple people via the advanced reminder editor.

Groups

Whenever you CC a contact, we’ll keep track and add them to the contacts page within the members area.  You can then group contacts and blast out a group reminder.

Pro Accounts

Pro accounts get to store unlimited contacts and groups.  Of course they also get to send more sms reminders and experience and ad free interface.

Upgrade to Pro and help support Task.fm

Once you have synced your Twitter account with Task.fm (can be done on the Settings page in your members area) you will see an option to set Twitter as the reminder format.

On the reminders page, a Twitter icon will be visible, that allows you to set the reminder format with one click.  You can also choose Twitter as the “default” reminder type in your settings panel.

Clean New Interface

With the 1.0 release we have tried to really focus on speed. Being the “worlds fastest reminder tool” is not just marketing spin.  Its what we do.  The new interface is easier to use, contains a whole lot of new shortcuts and is easy on the eye.

Twitter Integration

This is the big killer feature in 1.0.  You can now create reminders right from Twitter.  After syncing your account with Task.fm, you can Direct message us with your reminder.  For example:

d @taskfm meeting with bob next Tuesday at 10am

Free Account Changes

Based on user feedback, we have scrapped the existing credits system and replaced it with free and pro accounts.  Free accounts come with unlimited email reminders + 15 sms/phone calls every month.

Pro Accounts

Pro users will get an ad free interface and 100 sms/phone calls a month.  Of course you also get unlimited email reminders.

Improved To-Do Lists

I think we’re close to coming up with an interface which will make the to-do list feature in Task.fm absolutely killer!    We have completely redesigned how you add tasks to your to-do list.  Its now faster and requires no page reload.

Via SMS

Changing how you receive a reminder in the old version required you to either change the default or edit a reminder.  Now you can change the reminder type using the “via”.  For example the following will create an sms reminder

remind me about meeting with bob at 4pm via sms

You can also change the reminder type from your members area by simply clicking the icons associated with each format.

Secret Password

A user requested feature – when creating reminders via email, you can now setup a secret password to enter in the subject.  This is optional and can be created on the settings page.

We Need You

As always we need your feedback on what you would like added or changed on Task.fm.  We really do listen to all your feedback.

So what do you think of the new release?

We allowed you to create them manually, but you can now use the natural language input to create them.

Here’s how it works:

enter: meeting with bob everyday
result: reminder sent out everyday at 9am

You can also use the term “every” e.g:

enter: meeting with bob every Tuesday at 12pm
result: reminder sent out every Tuesday at 12pm

We also support multiple days like:

enter: every Tuesday and Thursday meeting with bob
result: reminder sent at 9am every Tuesday and Thursday

And if you really want to bug yourself then Task.fm also recognizes  every hour:

enter: check your email inbox every hour
result: reminder sent out every hour

Of course this is just a start when it comes to repeat reminders.  Let us know of other terms you would like to see added.
