How it Works:

Just send a message to: (773) 273-9947 with your reminder. Remember Task.fm understands natural language, so write the message as if you were talking to your assistant. For example:

remind me to pick up the dry cleaning in 3 hours

Note: This is a pro feature for upgraded members of Task.fm and currently only supported in the U.S (we will role out to more countries soon). To upgrade visit this page.

Also, remember this is an Alpha or experimental feature – so you may experience some bugs. If you do please let us know.

What do you think of the new feature?

Voice reminders work by converting your text based reminder into speech - Task.fm will then call you at the time you specified and read aloud your reminder. You need never pay for a ridiculously priced hotel wakeup call again! Pro Task.fm users get unlimited voice reminders each month.

Pro taskers – try sending yourself a voice reminder. Personally, I have found voice reminders to be more effective than sms reminders. Simply because they force you to listen!

All pro users can now receive voice reminders. Just visit the settings page to enter your “voice reminder number”

As always let us know what you think of the feature.

New Members Area

The biggest change in the new design has been the way reminders are displayed. The new design makes the user interface less cluttered and puts the focus on the “reminders”. You’ll notice the icons that used to be displayed next to each reminder are now hidden – just mouse over a reminder to see them appear.

New Homepage, Logo etc.

I redesigned the entire homepage – I removed lots of text, chucked up a big screenshot of the app and put our new slogan front and center (outsource your memory).

New Features Coming Soon

Pro members will be getting early access to a couple of brand new features this coming Monday (you’ll get an email pro Taskers). If you haven’t already done so, upgrade today and join countless other pro Taskers.

What do you think of the new design?

We’ve rolled live a couple of new features – tags and search

Tags Made Simple

Adding a tag to a reminder is as simple as including a hashtag. For example:

pay the water bill next Tuesday #bills

Its really that simple. You can also add multiple tags to a reminder.

Works on Twitter and Through Email

Hashtags were born on Twitter, so it makes sense for us to fully support tagging on Twitter. So when creating reminders via email (reminder@task.fm) or on Twitter (direct message @taskfm) just include a tag.

Even Works When You Don’t

You only need to create a tag once. After that, we recognise reminders with the same tags and automatically tag them for you.

Search

You can search all your reminders based on tags or keywords. Try the new search box in your members area.

Try out all the new features on Task.fm

A couple of weeks ago we launched Twitter integration with Task.fm that allowed you to create reminders via Twitter. And now you can receive reminders on Twitter too.

Once you have synced your Twitter account with Task.fm (can be done on the Settings page in your members area) you will see an option to set Twitter as the reminder format.

On the reminders page, a Twitter icon will be visible, that allows you to set the reminder format with one click. You can also choose Twitter as the “default” reminder type in your settings panel.

So if you’re a Twitter addict, you now never need to leave to stay organised! Check out this squidoo lens on Twitter Reminders for more details.

p.s – This was a user requested feature! We listen to all your suggestions so keep em coming.

Task.fm 1.0 is now live. Big new features include Twitter integration, a brand new interface, faster task lists and pro accounts. Take a look

Clean New Interface

With the 1.0 release we have tried to really focus on speed. Being the “worlds fastest reminder tool” is not just marketing spin. Its what we do. The new interface is easier to use, contains a whole lot of new shortcuts and is easy on the eye.

Twitter Integration

This is the big killer feature in 1.0. You can now create reminders right from Twitter. After syncing your account with Task.fm, you can Direct message us with your reminder. For example:

d @taskfm meeting with bob next Tuesday at 10am

Free Account Changes

Based on user feedback, we have scrapped the existing credits system and replaced it with free and pro accounts. Free accounts come with unlimited email reminders + 15 sms/phone calls every month.

Pro Accounts

Pro users will get an ad free interface and 100 sms/phone calls a month. Of course you also get unlimited email reminders.

Improved To-Do Lists

I think we’re close to coming up with an interface which will make the to-do list feature in Task.fm absolutely killer! We have completely redesigned how you add tasks to your to-do list. Its now faster and requires no page reload.

Via SMS

Changing how you receive a reminder in the old version required you to either change the default or edit a reminder. Now you can change the reminder type using the “via”. For example the following will create an sms reminder

remind me about meeting with bob at 4pm via sms

You can also change the reminder type from your members area by simply clicking the icons associated with each format.

Secret Password

A user requested feature – when creating reminders via email, you can now setup a secret password to enter in the subject. This is optional and can be created on the settings page.

We Need You

As always we need your feedback on what you would like added or changed on Task.fm. We really do listen to all your feedback.

So what do you think of the new release?

Heres a quick update on some of the work we’ve been doing on Task.fm

Create Reminders via Email – If you’ re a member of Task.fm you would have received an email (last week) letting you know you can now create reminders via email.

If you haven’t tried it out yet, give it a go. Send an email to reminder@task.fm (using the email address you registered with) and we will process it – extract the dates, time, event etc.

You don’t need to enter anything in the subject (as we ignore it) and you can leave your email signature/ads/junk at the bottom as we process it out.

Design Changes – Although a brand new design is in the works, we have done some tweaking to the home page and registration pages to make things a little more logical.

Huge new updates are coming soon. I’m super excited! Keep up to date over on Twitter or FriendFeed
