Task.fm has only been launched for a few hours (about 9) and already the response has been incredible! I’ve been getting heaps of questions so I thought I would answer some here:
Why Do You Charge for SMS?
I don’t want to charge – but out of shear necessity I have to. Task.fm was bootstrapped and paid for out of my own back pocket because I wanted a really simple reminder tool that currently didnt exist. As it costs me for every sms we send out unfortunately I have to charge a small fee to cover costs.
Dont worry these will eventually be free – remember email reminders are 100% free and you can create as many as you want.
Creating Reminders via sms, email, etc.
This is a huge feature – and its coming. Task.fm uses rapid development. Its important that we build a really strong foundation and work from there. Expect to see a major new feature released every week.
Semantic Recognition
Being able to recognize hundreds of date and time formats is tricky. But the good news is we can still get so much better. If you enter a reminder that doesn’t work – let us know so we can add rules. New rules will be added daily and Task.fm needs you to grow our natural language recognition.
Beta
Finally a word on the beta – Task.fm really is in beta! The site hasn’t had huge amounts of testing before it was publicly announced. So, you will come across errors and I now how frustrating these might be. But they will be fixed – very quickly. Im not a believer in long beta periods (aka Google) so once the initial errors are worked out and im happy with the product, we’ll launch into 1.0.
